  • Steve Bearden
    Steve Bearden

    Senior Vice President
    Washington

    Steve joined CB&T in 1970. He moved his way up from Assistant Cashier to Vice President in the Lending Department in 1986, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 1994. Steve served as Director of NeighborWorks Waco, a non-profit home ownership business, for four years, and he is an avid outdoorsman and wildlife enthusiast.

    Commercial Lending

    Ben spent six years practicing law in Dallas and Waco prior to beginning work as a commercial loan officer at Community Bank & Trust in 2007. He attended Washington & Lee University and then graduated from SMU School of Law in 2001. He currently works in the commercial lending department of CB&T at 1900 Washington Avenue. He serves on the boards of KWBU, the local public radio station, and City Center Waco. He and his wife Noell have three children who attend school in Waco. They enjoy spending time at their farm, visiting family, and traveling together.

    Commercial Lending

    James joined CB&T in 2003 as a part-time Teller. After graduating from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance and Real Estate, he moved up within the bank. In 2016, James was promoted to Senior Vice President and currently works in the Commercial Lending department. He has been involved in many community organizations, and is currently involved in the the Dr Pepper Museum, the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, and the Tax Increment Finance board. James and his wife Jenny have two young children.

    Carol Pilant

    Senior Vice President
    Branch Manager - Chapel Road

    Carol has spent her entire career with Community Bank & Trust working in various roles within the bank before settling into the loan area. She is a graduate of Baylor University where she earned a BBA in Finance. Carol is a past board member of the Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library and a 2007 graduate of Leadership Waco. She and her husband Randy enjoy traveling, antiquing, and spending time with family.

  • Gary Pilant
    Gary Pilant

    Branch Manager - Wooded Acres

    Gary began his banking career at Community Bank & Trust in 2007 after graduating from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance. He worked as a Credit Analyst for five years prior to joining the Lending Team in 2012. Gary currently serves as a Senior Vice President in Lending and Branch Manager of the Wooded Acres location. He is a graduate of Leadership Waco Class XXXII and is currently enrolled in SMU's Southwestern Graduate School of Banking Class LX. Gary is a past board member of CASA of McLennan and Hill Counties and currently serves on the Providence Hospice Advisory Council. He and his wife Christie enjoy traveling, attending Texas Ranger games, and spending time with their two children Sophia and Ethan.

    Washington

    Perry is a native of McLennan County where he grew up working on his family's ranching operations east of Waco. He is a graduate of Mart High School and earned his degree in Agri-Business from Sam Houston State University. Perry spent 12 years working in the Commercial/Industrial HVAC industry in the Houston area before moving back home to Waco in 2006 to begin a career in finance with FirstCity Financial Corporation. While at FirstCity, he gained valuable experience in managing and dispositioning a wide variety of distressed loan assets. He has since worked in more traditional banking roles at other institutions, before joining the team at CB&T in 2018, specializing in business lending. Perry is involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations including Lake Air Little League, Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo, Baylor/Waco Foundation and the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys spending his time away from the office with his family, as well as being in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, or coaching Little League baseball.

    Washington

    Salvador started his banking career at Community Bank & Trust in 2014. As the first in his family to attend college, he graduated from McLennan Community College with an AAS in Accounting. He later transferred to the University of Texas in Arlington, where he graduated in 2013 with a BBA in Management. Salvador and his wife Maria are members of the St. Francis Catholic Church, where they were married in 2008. They have two daughters, Zitlaly and Lesly. As a family they enjoy spending time with each other, going to the movies, and playing sports.

    Jacob Cates

    Jacob grew up in Waco and is a proud graduate of Waco High School. While attending McLennan Community College, he began his banking career with CB&T in 2007 as a teller. Jacob graduated from Tarleton State University while working as a Credit Analyst, before being promoted to a banking officer in CB&T's Lending Department. Jacob currently serves as the president of the Northwest Optimist Club of Waco, and is currently participating in Leadership Waco. Jacob enjoys helping the youth of Waco through his time as a mentor at Alta Vista Elementary School, as a Lake Air Little League baseball coach, and he volunteers with financial literacy classes at Waco High School. He and his wife Anne have two young children. As a family, they enjoy spending time together going to the park or watching movies.

  • Brandon Moseley
    Brandon Moseley

    Banking Officer
    Wooded Acres

    Brandon joined Community Bank & Trust in 2015. He is a graduate of Baylor University, with BA degrees in political science and history. He previously worked in the City of Waco Mayor's Office, and in the non-profit sector. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys watching sports and spending time outdoors with his wife Rebecca and their dog Tyson.

    Daniel joined Community Bank & Trust in 2016. Originally from Austin, Texas, he moved to Waco to attend Baylor University. He is a proud graduate of Baylor with BBA degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys being active outdoors and traveling.
