  • How do I get signed up on the SecurLOCK Equip app?

The SecurLOCK equip app is available for Apple and Android devices.

Simply download the SecurLOCK Equip app today from the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store.

Once installed, you can follow the prompts on the screen to authenticate and get signed up! To get started, you'll need your full CB&T debit card number, the card's security code, expiration date and billing address.

  • What's the difference between a password and a passcode?

Password - to log in to the app, you will need to enter the credentials (your username and password). By logging in with the username and password, the app will create a session ID and give you a certain amount of session time where the user can remain idle and still be logged in to the app. If your idle time exceeds this session time, you will be logged out of the app. If you want to get back in at this point, you will have to enter the username and password again.

Passcode - is an additional security setting provided by the app. If you set a passcode (or enable Face ID on an Apple device), each time you navigate away from the app and come back, you will need to enter this passcode before the app will display the last page you accessed. If you set a passcode you can have a longer session time than if you do not.

  • How many cards can I register?

You can register all your CB&T debit cards on the SecurLOCK Equip app within the same login ID.

  • How do I turn my card off/on?

When you initially log in to the SecurLOCK Equip App, you will see the front of your card.

    • To turn a card "On" or "Off," tap on the "Card ON/OFF" slider. When a card is turned on, the slider will be green and the card image will have a green circle in the top right corner. When the card is turned off, the slider will be grey and the circle on the card image will be red. When a card is turned off, any transactions made on the card (other than recurring payments and credits/deposits) will be denied.
    • Tapping "Control Preferences" takes you to the Control Preferences page, where you will be able to control where your card can be used.
    • Tapping "Alert Preferences" takes you to the Alert Preferences page, where you can set up your real-time transaction alerts.
    • Tapping "Recent Transaction" take you to the transaction page, where you can view transactions made on your card.
  • Location Controls - Control where your card is used

You can specify a location where your card can be used by selecting the "Locations" option within the "Control Preferences" menu. The locations policies only cover in-store transactions as "Card Not Present" transactions bypass the location-based preferences.

You can set multiple location controls for each card:

TIP - "Block International" must be disabled when either the "My Region" or "My Location" option is enabled or vice versa.

    My Location

When the "My Location" control preference is set, the app will compare your location (your phone's location) and the merchant location to decide whether to approve or deny the transaction.

Transactions made at merchant locations that differ significantly from your location will be denied.

The app determines your location by:

    • Assuming that you will always carry the phone that has been set as "Primary Device"
    • using the phone's location as a proxy for your location

TIP - For "My Location" control and alert policies to work, you must turn "On" the device's Location Settings and enable location tracking.

    My Region

You can select "My Regions" to set one or multiple geographical areas where in-store transactions can be made. When the "My Regions" control is set, in-store transactions made outside the specified region(s) will be denied.

You can specify up to three control Regions per card. Each region is a circular area with a maximum radius of five miles.

Tapping the "Add Region" link brings up an interactive map where you can search for an area, then zoom in or out to specify the region. You must enter the region's name and tap "Save" after selecting the region.

    Block International

To block transactions made outside of the United States, select the "Block International" option by sliding the respective slider to the "ON" position.

Both "My Location" and "My Region" sliders must be in the "OFF" position for you to be able to select the "Block International" option.

  • Merchant Controls - Control where your card is used

With Merchant Controls, you can specify what types of merchants are allowed or denied.

By default, all of the Merchant Types will be allowed, or the controls will be "DISABLED." To begin controlling at which merchants your card can and cannot be used, "ENABLE" merchant controls and all merchants on the screen with a green slider will be allowed.

Selecting "ON" for a specific merchant type (with a green slider) will allow a transaction to be permitted at that type of merchant. Selecting "OFF" (with the grey slider) will deny any transaction at that merchant type.

  • Transaction Controls - Control where your card is used

You can specify transaction types for which transactions are allowed and denied.

By default, all of the Transaction Types will be allowed, or the controls will be "DISABLED." To begin controlling which type of transactions your card can and cannot be used, "ENABLE" transaction controls and all merchants on the screen with a green slider will be allowed.

When "Transaction Types" is selected as "ENABLED," the individual types are shown. The first time you select "ENABLE," all of the transaction types will be enabled.

Individual transaction types can be turned "OFF" by selecting the slider next to it.

Selecting "OFF" will deny any transaction of that Transaction Type.

  • Spend Limits - Control how much you can spend

Tapping on "Spend Limits" within the Control Preferences page takes you to the Spend Controls page.

Here you can specify a transaction threshold amount, above which transactions will be denied.

Tapping the "Per Transaction" slider to "ON" will display the amount field, where you can enter the threshold amount.

Tap on "Save" for the Spend Limits controls to take effect.

  • Alert Preferences

Alert Preferences let you know every time a card transaction is attempted. You can be alerted for all or preferred transactions.

Tapping "Alert Preferences" within the Control Preferences menu will allow you to view all alert settings.

You can choose to receive alerts for "All Transactions," "Selected Transactions" or "none."

Selecting "Selected Transactions" from the drop-down box on the Alert Preferences page presents you with several custom alert options. Once an alert is enabled, its icon changes from light grey to blue.

TIP - In order to receive alerts, you must select your phone as your primary device. You can do this by going to the "Menu" icon in the upper left corner, and then go to "Settings" and "Primary Device."

    Location Alerts

You can specify a Location Alert by selecting the "My Location" option. The locations alerts only cover in-store transactions because "Card Not Present" transactions bypass the location-based preferences.

Available Location Alerts are: My Location, My Regions, and International.

You can set multiple location alerts for each card.

TIP - "International" must be disabled when either "My Location" or "My Region" is enabled, and vice versa.

To see more information on how each location alert option works, tap on the question mark next to each option.

    Merchant Alerts

You can specify merchant types for which transactions will trigger an alert.

When "Merchant Types" is selected as "ON," the individual types are shown. The first time you select "ON," all of the Merchant Types will be enabled.

Individual Merchant Types can be turned "OFF" by selecting the slider next to it.

Selecting "ON" for a specific merchant type will allow a transaction alert to be sent at that type of merchant. Selecting "OFF" will not send alerts at that merchant type.

TIP - If "Merchant Types" is turned "OFF" and then turned "ON" again, the last known settings will be displayed.

    Transaction Alerts

When "Transaction Types" is selected as "ON," the individual types are shown. The first time you select "ON," all of the transaction alerts will be enabled.

Individual transaction type alerts can be turned "OFF" by selecting the slider next to it. Selecting "OFF" will mean that you will not receive any alerts for that transaction type.

TIP - If "Transaction Types" is turned "OFF" and then turned "ON" again, the last known settings will be displayed.

    Spend Alerts

Here you can specify an alert for a transaction threshold amount, above which alerts will be sent.

Tapping the "Per Transaction" slider to "ON" will display the amount field, where you can enter the threshold amount of which you would like to receive alerts.

Be sure to tap "Save" for the Spend Limits Alerts to take effect.

  • How long does it take for a control or alert to take effect?

It happens immediately after you set and save the option. For example, if you have your card turned "OFF," and then turn it back "ON," it will be immediately ready for you to use again.

  • Why was my transaction denied?

Through the app, you are able to view the reason why a transaction was denied.

    • Go to "Transactions"
    • Find the one that was denied and open it
    • Tap on the image so that it rotates to show more information
    • The control or reason why the transaction did not go through will be listed on this screen
    • Based on this reason, you may need to adjust your control settings (like "My Location" or "Merchant Type") to ensure the next transaction will go through
    • Keep in mind that your transaction could have been declined because of external factors like non-sufficient funds or fraud monitoring.
  • Why am I not receiving alerts?

Only the primary device will receive alerts. Be sure that you have set your device as primary by going to the main menu, then go to "Settings" and "Primary Device."

  • Will my recurring transactions go through if I have my card turned off?

Yes. Merchant recurring transactions will be approved. Additionally, you can select to receive alerts on recurring transactions as well.

  • I received a new card. Will it be automatically updated in the app?

You will have to add the new account to the app. This can be done by going to "Manage Account" and then adding the new card information. Be sure to "unmanage" the old card.
