Our Trust Officers have a depth and breadth of experience that includes backgrounds as accountants, attorneys, Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA), and MBAs. Our department head, Thad Jennings, has been in the trust services business for more than 20 years, and several of our officers boast more than a decade of experience in banking and trust services. Beyond the bank, our officers serve throughout the community on various boards of philanthropic agencies.

    Thad joined Community Bank & Trust in 2000 with eight years of experience as a trust officer with Texas National Bank and its successors. He currently serves as the head of the Wealth Management & Trust Department. He currently serves as the head of the Wealth Management & Trust Department. A graduate of Abilene Christian University, he is also a licensed CPA. Thad serves as Board Chairman of the Texas Banker's Association's Wealth Management & Trust Administrative Council, where he is working to create a Trust & Fiduciary curriculum at Texas State University in San Marcos and at other institutions around the state. Thad and his wife, Mendy, have four children, and enjoy spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and hiking.

    A licensed attorney, Steve practiced law in Dallas and Waco for 12 years prior to joining Community Bank & Trust in 1999. He currently serves on the Bosqueville ISD Board of Trustees, the Bosqueville Excellence in Education Foundation, the Texas Banker's Association's Government Relations Council, where he is active in lobbying efforts related to the corporate trust industry, and the Volunteer Services Council at the Waco Center for Youth. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Waco, Inc., where he serves as Treasurer, and is the Chairman of the Meals on Wheels Program. Steve graduated from SMU School of Law and Trinity University. He is married to Kathleen French Dow, an attorney, and they have one child, Dylan. They enjoy supporting Dylan in his sports and activities.

    Evan came to Community Bank & Trust with prior professional experience in management with some well-known businesses in Waco, including Nick's Restaurant and Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. A graduate of Baylor University with a BA in Business in 1979 and an Executive MBA in 2001, and the Texas Banker's Association Trust School, Evan has been a Trust Officer with Community Bank & Trust since 2003. Evan stays active within his community through his work with the Waco Rotary Club, Mission Waco/Church Under the Bridge, WISD student mentor program, the Greater Waco Chamber, and the Baylor Bear Foundation. Together, he and his wife, Kimberly Branch Klaras, enjoy the blessing of 4 adult children. Evan enjoys playing golf, and both jazz and classical guitar.

    Lisa received her Certified Public Accountant Designation in 1987. She was actively engaged as a CPA with local accounting firms for 20 years prior to joining Community Bank & Trust in 2007. Lisa serves as a mentor in the LEAD program and has been a long-time volunteer with the Adopt-A-School program at Alta Vista Elementary School. In addition, she volunteers in children's ministries at First Baptist Church of Hewitt. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA and Baylor University with an M.T., she has two adult daughters and two granddaughters and enjoys cooking and reading in her spare time.

    In 2008, Pat Millar joined Community Bank & Trust after a 24-year legal career followed by 7 years working at another banks trust department in Waco. Pat brings experience in real estate and probate law to the Trust Department. He has held the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification of the American Bankers Association since 2004. Pat enjoys spending time outdoors on his farm and fishing. He and his wife, Jana, have two adult children, Paul and Jane.

    John started his career at Community Bank & Trust as a credit analyst in 2002 after graduating from Baylor University. John was promoted to Trust Officer and joined the Trust Department in 2007. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and works as an investment portfolio manager. In addition to his duties at the bank, since 2012 John has served as the elected representative for District Three on the Waco City Council. John enjoys hiking and playing disc golf at Cameron Park, attending various Baylor sporting events, and supports a variety of civic organizations in the community.

    Neal joined Community Bank & Trust in 2016 after serving as the Investment Officer for FirstBank Southwest Wealth Management in Amarillo, TX. He has been in the financial services industry for 10 years and has experience in banking, insurance, and investments. Neal earned his Bachelor's Degree in Ag Business and Economics from West Texas A&M University. Neal and his wife, Ginger, along with their two children enjoy spending time outdoors, playing golf, riding horses, and team roping.

    Jamie spent 10 years practicing law before starting her banking career at Community Bank & Trust in 2014. She is graduate of Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the University of Florida. Jamie serves on the boards of the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children and Waco Montessori School. She enjoys working with children as a student mentor at Alta Vista Elementary School and as a sustaining member of the Junior League of Waco. She and her husband, Jay, together with their son, spend family time attending Baylor athletic events, being outdoors, and watching college football.

    Kimberly started her career in banking at the First National Bank of Bryan in 1999 as a teller, while a student at Texas A&M University. After graduating from A&M in 2002, she was promoted to Loan Operations and eventually Trust. Kimberly joined Community Bank & Trust in 2007. Kimberly and her husband, Kevin, are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where they were married in 2010, and have two dogs and a cat. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nephews. Kimberly also enjoys playing volleyball.

    Beth practiced law for 12 years prior to joining Community Bank & Trust. Beth graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA and the University of Tulsa, College of Law. She stays active in her community by serving on the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children Board and the Oakwood Cemetery Association Board. Beth, her husband, and two children enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, and camping.

    Mark, a licensed attorney, was born and raised in Waco. He is a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor Law School. Prior to joining Community Bank & Trust, Mark worked for the federal government. Mark and his wife, Lauren, together with their two children enjoy spending time outdoors and attending Baylor athletic events.
