When will I be receiving my new Debit Mastercard?
You can expect to receive your new Debit Mastercard by the end of February.
What will happen to my current Visa debit card?
Your Visa debit card will be deactivated, but a firm date for that deactivation is pending. We recommend that you activate your new Debit Mastercard immediately when you receive it and discontinue use of your Visa Debit Card UNLESS you use Apple Pay/Samsung Pay. Debit Mastercards will not be available on Apple Pay or Samsung Pay until mid-April. If you wish to use your debit card on Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, you will need to continue using your Visa card until mid-April.
How do I activate my Debit Mastercard?
Your new Debit Mastercard will arrive with instructions on how to activate the card.
Can I keep my same PIN?
Up to you! Upon debit card activation, you will have the choice to keep your same PIN or choose a new PIN.
Will my new card look the same as my old card?
Your new Debit Mastercard will still be blue (personal customers) or grey (commercial customers), but it will be a slightly different design and will be easily distinguishable from your old card. The new card will also of course have a Mastercard logo instead of the Visa logo.
What will happen to all my recurring transactions?
Recurring transactions on your current Visa Debit Card will stop once your Visa Debit Card is deactivated. We recommend you activating your Debit Mastercard as soon as you receive it and update your new Debit Mastercard information for all your recurring payments.
What does it mean that my card will be contactless?
This means that instead of inserting or swiping your card at a POS terminal, you will now be able to simply TAP the terminal with your card to pay. While not every POS terminal is equipped to accept contactless payments, you can look for the contactless symbol or ask the cashier if you can pay by tapping. If they do not yet offer contactless payments, this card can be used normally at any merchant that accepts Mastercard.
Will my new card information automatically update on SecurLOCK Equip?
No. When you receive your new Debit Mastercard, you will need to log in to your account on the SecurLOCK Equip app and add your new card information within the app to continue receiving real-time transaction alerts and debit card monitoring. Click here to learn more about SecurLOCK Equip.
Will my new card information automatically update on Apple Pay or Samsung Pay?
No. When you receive your new Debit Mastercard, you will need to go to your device’s mobile wallet and add your new card information. Please note, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay will not be available for the new Debit Mastercard until mid-April. Until that time, you will need to continue to use your Visa debit card on your mobile wallet.
Will my new card information automatically update on P2P?
No. When you receive your new Debit Mastercard, you will need to manually delete your Visa debit card from P2P and then add your new Debit Mastercard as a new card.
